The culture of winemaking has been handed down over the centuries at Varramista. Over time, vine cultivation has favored two varieties: Sangiovese, the oldest varietal, and Syrah, which became the primary and most prestigious grape variety in the 1990s, when Giovanni Alberto Agnelli began the process of converting the vineyards and production system, accompanied by winemaker Federico Staderini, who still oversees the quality of Varramista wines today. This is how Varramista's fine wines are born, born from a passion for wine and the history of a region, its climate, and its soil. The vineyard area is very small, enhancing quality: the care given to each plant is absolute. This dedication, from bud to bunch, finds its expression in the quality of the harvest, which is carried out following a careful selection of the grapes. The aging process takes place separately for each variety. At bottling, the winemaker selects only the wine from the finest barriques.
