Mediterranea Belfiore is a family-run canning business managed by the Ciarlo sisters and their mother, Renza. The company was founded in 1952 by their father, Donato, who started by cultivating tomatoes on the family estate, which inspired the company's name. Located in Cecina, in the province of Livorno and near the sea, the business established a laboratory in 1974 for preparing tomato preserves using traditional homemade methods. In 1989, they began transitioning to organic tomato processing, and by 1996, the process became fully organic.
