Riesling 50° Trabener Gaispfad Urschiefer Réserve Spätlese off-dry

Langguth Winery recently began using a three-tier grading system for its wines: Base, Premium and Top. To further emphasize viticulture with extremely steep slopes, they have assigned each level a grade of slope inclination of 12°, 36° and 50°. These represent the average slopes of the respective vineyards.

Langghut’s 50° Top Premium wines are produced from extremely low yields of carefully selected grapes grown in the winery’s smallest vineyards on the steepest slopes. These Rieslings are produced in very limited quantities and show extraordinary personality as well as great aging potential.

Our winery is located in Traben-Trarbach, Germany, directly on the Moselle River. We cultivate and produce wines typical of the region on 4.5 hectares of slate, the finest steep slopes. With sites in Traben-Trarbach, Enkrich, and Piesport, we aim to enhance and preserve the cultural characteristics of viticulture in the steep landscape of the Moselle region. The Moselle winegrowing landscape is characterized by terraces with slopes ranging from gentle to very steep, vines grown on individual slopes, the Riesling grape variety, and the characteristic slate terroir.
