The Bianchi family is the nucleus around which Castello di Monsanto was born, has grown and has spanned more than half a century tracing a deep furrow in the history of Chianti Classico to the point of marking its path. Today it is Laura Bianchi who hands down the family traditions with great dedication and love for the land and viticulture.
The 2006 vintage is virtually unobtainable, given the well-established fame and reputation of this wonderful estate.

Artigiano

Castello di Monsanto is located in the west-central region of Chianti Classico, named after the village of Monsanto, which dates back to 998 A.D. Built in the mid-1700s, the castle sits at the heart of a vast estate that encompasses 12 properties and over 220 hectares, with 72 ha cultivated with vines at altitudes between 280 and 320 meters a.s.l. Of these, 56 hectares are dedicated to Sangiovese, along with Canaiolo, Colorino, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Chardonnay. Fabrizio and Laura Bianchi currently uphold the legacy started by their father, transforming it into a steadfast tradition. Since the first vintage in 1962, the winery has maintained one of Italy’s most comprehensive historical archives, featuring an extraordinary collection of bottles that showcase the evolution of 60 vintages. Each bottle reflects elegance, authenticity, and longevity.
