Isole e Olena, situated halfway between Florence and Siena, evolved into a farming in the 1700s. However, it was not until the mid-1950s that the De Marchi family acquired it. They united it with the mezzadrile hamlet of Olena, creating “Isole e Olena.” Paolo De Marchi, originally from Piedmont and a naturalised Tuscan, has lived and worked in Chianti Classico since 1976, focusing on vineyard renewal to produce the finest Sangiovese possible. Cepparello is the fruit of this commitment. The estate produces wines from its own 56 hectares of vineyards. Recently, Paolo De Marchi sold the estate, which has streamlined its sales network while maintaining its signature style and philosophy.
