The story of Esse di Raveo, a municipality in Carnia within the Friuli region, began in 1920 when Emilio Bonanni invented the recipe. Flour, sugar, eggs, butter, and vanilla are simple ingredients; however, when crafted expertly, they create a product with a unique flavour. From the outset, the goal was to create superior-quality sweets using only high-quality, natural ingredients, adhering to the motto, “If something is worth doing, it’s worth doing well; if not, don’t do it.” Prioritising quality over quantity proved successful, as Esse's reputation for excellence quickly spread.
