Ghiaie della Furba was created by Ugo and Vittorio Contini Bonacossi in 1979 with the idea of producing a Bordeaux blend in the Carmignano area. It takes its name from the gravelly terrain of the Furba stream where the first vineyard was located. In 1998 the blend was changed and today the wine is made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah.
